Practical guide to the Costa Blanca Cup 2023
The international youth soccer tournament will have teams from 23 countries on five continents
The Costa Blanca Cup 2023 starts its 29th edition this Monday, July 3. The international grassroots football tournament, a classic of the sport in summer training categories, faces a year of great importance in its intention to continue growing and improving, but also being a prelude to what will be in 2024 the celebration of its three decades: 30 years of Costa Blanca Cup.
Practical guide to know some information about this edition:
-Teams and countries: 275 teams will participate in the different categories of the international grassroots football and futsal tournament, registering teams from 23 countries on five continents (Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, United Arab Emirates, United States, France, England, Northern Ireland, Iceland, Japan, Jordan, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uganda). In the specific case of Spain, there are 8 autonomous communities and 15 provinces represented
-Categories and total number of scheduled matches: The competition will have 16 male and 7 female categories (with 53 teams out of the 275 total). This will mean the dispute of 674 matches between July 3 and 8.
-Costa Blanca Cup Inclusive: The tournament activated an inclusive category in 2015. In this 2023 edition, an A-Ball match, wheelchair soccer, will be held between a team from the Valencia CF Veterans Association and another from the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
-The venues: A total of ten venues are part of the conglomerate of 11 football fields and 8 futsal courts: Benidorm, Benissa, Calpe, Altea, Alfàs del Pi, La Nucía, Polop, Finestrat and Villajoyosa y Callosa.

-Number of matches and competition system: Participation guarantees a minimum of four matches to be played per team. The competition system starts with a group stage in the form of a single-game league. The first two of each group go to Final phase A and the third and fourth to Final phase B.

-Medical Assistance and Insurance: The fields have a first-line medical assistance service to attend to possible incidents that may occur. All the players are covered by accident insurance that covers injuries that may occur during the development of the matches. This is injury insurance, not sickness. If a player goes to the hospital to be treated for an illness, the cost of care will be passed on.
-Tournament souvenirs: Participants can purchase a tournament souvenir with one of the t-shirts designed for it, which can be purchased on the day of arrival at the meeting point, in shops that will be activated in different facilities, at the tournament party football or at the tournament office at the Hotel Meliá Benidorm.
