Costa Blanca Cup: a tournament with 30 years of maturity

The indoor soccer championship, which has completed its nineteenth edition, of the Costa Blanca Cup, concluded this Sunday. And the pace does not stop. Absolutely. It's time for football. Thus begins the thirtieth CBC tournament since its birth in 1994. It has been 30 years of Tour-Sport Sports Promotions promoting football, sports tourism, the international nature of an event that attracts teams from countries from each continent, and that It becomes a sea every year, precisely being on the balcony of the Mediterranean, of experiences and experiences.
Indeed, this Sunday began that initiatory part of the Costa Blanca Cup, in which the participants, all those teams and footballers, and coaching staff, and also companions, land in Benidorm for registration, accreditation and collection of material, in addition to accommodation in the different hotels. The arrival. Faces that project illusion are the photo of the day. And starting tomorrow, Monday, it will be the moment in which the ball rolls in each and every one of the facilities of the different venues with Benidorm, Calpe, La Vilajoiosa, Alfas del Pi, La Nucía, Benissa, Finestrat and Altea. There will be nineteen football fields in these locations for the scheduled matches of both the men's and women's F8 and F11 categories. And, as is tradition, the opening ceremony will take place in the evening.
A total of 200 teams will compete throughout the week in the edition of the three decades of the Costa Blanca Cup. And these will represent 22 countries from four continents (Europe, America, Asia and Africa): from outside the national territory they will arrive squads from Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Congo, United States, United Arab Emirates, Finland, France, India, England, Northern Ireland, Iceland, Jordan, Kenya, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Thailand and Uganda .
From Spain, the regions represented will be Andalusia, Aragon, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla y León, Catalonia, Community of Madrid, Galicia, Balearic Islands, Region of Murcia and the Valencian Community.
In tourism terms, occupancy figures are available for 23 hotels, generating 23,000 overnight stays until next Saturday, July 6, and a turnover forecast for these of 993,000 euros. Tour-Sport Promociones Deportivas, whose CEOs are Fernando Brotons and Daniel Artíguez, the company that has organized the tournament since 1994, has contracted with the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences of the University of Valencia a study to evaluate the socioeconomic impact of the 30th edition of the CBC.
The sporting framework, also in total figures of both tournaments (that is, adding the 60 teams that have competed in the Costa Blanca Futsal Cup concluded this Sunday), will be projected with the participation of a total of 3,900 players, 600 will be played matches, divided into 19 categories (15 men's and 4 women's). What do these thirty global years mean in terms of promoting sport and contributing to the tourism framework? To date, 6,000 teams have participated, a total of 95,000 male and female players, from 90 countries.
The history of this tournament, as is known, extends for 30 years. And as a novelty, linked to this edition, the name of the Costa Blanca Cup will reach beyond the seas with the first edition of the Costa Blanca Caribbean Cup, which will be held during Holy Week in 2025 in the Dominican Republic.
